Scarface has become the latest rapper to get coronavirus. The Houston native revealed the news on fellow Geto Boys’ member, Willie D’s, YouTube page on Thursday (March 26).
The 49-year-old rapper has been battling the disease for weeks. As explained in the interview, he couldn’t breathe at one point, lost his appetite, and felt like his stomach was “on fire.” He initially woke up with an itchy throat and phoned a doctor who prescribed him medicine, but his sickness escalated to a fever of 103 degrees, at which point he was taken to the ER. He was released from the hospital but got “even sicker” as the days progressed.
After being admitted back into the hospital, he was finally tested for COVID-19.
“It started out with pneumonia in both of my lungs, three-four days later, my kidneys failed,” he shared. “Three of four days after that, they tell me I’m quarantined. I gotta’ wait until it subsides to see what’s going on with my kidneys.”
Scarface has since been released from the hospital but remains in quarantined at home, and says his health is thankfully on the mend.
“This whole three weeks has been an ordeal,” he added. “It’s the craziest s*** I’ve ever done and seen in my life. I’ve been to the point where I felt I was going to die.”
The hip-hop legend, whose birth name is Brad Jordan, has asthma, which made his health predicament worse. He also slammed rumors that celebrities are being paid to say that they have COVID-19.
“People out there thinking this s**t is a game, you don’t want to play with this.”
