On This Day In 2014: CM Punk Leaves WWE

A great deal can happen in four years, but if your name is CM Punk, that amount of time probably feels like it’s flown by. The Straight Edge Superstar and multiple world champion walked out of WWE on this day back in 2014, and few could’ve expected that he wouldn’t run up to this point. Since then Punk has been able to transition into mixed martial arts, with his UFC debut coming in September 2016 when he lost to Mickey Gall via first-round submission.

There’s been a great deal of speculation regarding Punk one day returning to professional wrestling, with the upcoming All In show being highlighted as a possible venue for his comeback match.
