MTV's The Real World was basically the beginning of reality television. Before The Hills, Selling Sunset, and The Kardashians existed, MTV paved the way by featuring regular non-famous people living their lives out in the real world. Some of the people featured on The Real World went on to become celebrities in their own right and famous for other things. Those who never watched The Real World may not even be aware of certain famous people who got their start on that show.

The series began in 1992, ran for over a decade, and featured all kinds of different people and personalities from all walks of life. 8 The Miz Was On The Real World: Back to New York

Mike Mizanin, "The Miz" got his start on The Real World. In fact, he actually came up with the nickname "The Miz" as well as the character for his WWE career on The Real World in 2001. He was on the Back to New York season of the show and is still working in reality television to this day with his show Miz and Mrs. on the USA Network, which follows the star's wrestling career as well as his family life with his wife and kids.

7 Jacinda Barrett Was On The Real World: London

Jacinda Barrett is originally from Australia and was working as a model when she got cast on The Real World: London. 6 Jamie Chung Was On The Real World: San Diego

Actress Jamie Chung got her start in entertainment by being cast in the 2004 season of The Real World: San Diego. She has since gone on to marry actor Bryan Greenberg of One Tree Hill fame and has also made quite the name for herself as an actress. She played Mulan on the ABC drama series Once Upon A Time, and did the voice of Go Go in Disney's Big Hero 6. She also played the role of Lauren in the last two Hangover films. She and Greenberg have two children: twins, who were born via surrogate.

Karamo Brown, now famous for his role on Queer Eye, got his start on The Real World as the first ever openly gay black man to be cast on a reality show. He has since gone on to become a television host, author, actor, and activist. He has a new talk show coming out in September 2022 called Karamo. Oh, and he has also been a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.

4 Cameron Eubanks Was On The Real World: San Diego

Cameron Eubanks, most known for appearing in six seasons of the Bravo reality series, Southern Charm, got her start in reality television by appearing on The Real World: San Diego in 2004. She is now the proud mother of her daughter, Palmer Corrine Wimberly, and has written a collection of essays called One Day You'll Thank Me: Essays on Dating, Motherhood, and Everything In Between.

3 Mallory Snyder Was On The Real World: Paris

American model and television personality, Mallory Snyder, got her start on The Real World: Paris in 2003. She is perhaps most known for being a swimsuit model for Sports Illustrated. She actually gave up a soccer scholarship at Iowa State University to appear on the reality show. She began modeling after returning to the states from Paris.
